Golf Rehabilitation
Golf, unlike many sports, is something that people do more frequently the older they get. Unfortunately, the older we get, the more physical limitations we develop. As a result, injuries are more likely to develop. Back pain, neck pain, sore knees, and sore shoulders are just a few of the many problems golfers experience. In addition, the loss of flexibility that results with aging leads to a loss of clubhead speed. As clubhead speed drops, distance drops. The natural reaction is to swing harder in order to try to retain our distance off the tee. Swinging harder leads to injury, and also can produce bad swing habits that will negatively influence your game. The "Golfwell" program at Southtowns combines a physical assessment of strength, flexibility and balance, with a swing analysis. The results are used to provide guidelines, exercises and swing tips to help prevent injury and improve game performance. Lowering your handicap the healthy way is our goal!
